It sounds good, and practical, having the ability to define your thoughts and recollect vividly is truly a remarkable phenomenon, but in the first place why did we forget something?

Major reasons are retrieval failure, interference, failure to store, and motivated forgetting according to Elizabeth Loftus. although there are four major reasons, I'm only gonna tackle the last one, since we as people, are capable to choose how, what, where, when and who to do forget. Its like unlearning something, which is definitely impossible to do. What our minds do is just divert our attention and focus on something else, until the thought of something or someone that was once relevant in heads slowly fades away.

All the advantages of having the ability to remember everything is extraordinary, to learn the lessons taught to you, knowledge you gain with minimal effort and experience you gathered throughout your life. Yet these gifts also burden us the remember the hardships and struggles we been through to acquire those lessons, pass those tests, and overcome those experiences.

Before I started my website, I had to scan through my laptop to gather materials such as pictures, videos and other contents. As I wonder to every folder of my photos, I saw several pictures and video clips of me and ex. At first I felt oblivious looking at the past, strolling to the memory lane seems to be safe, then I it suddenly happened, it caught me off guard when I realized why do I find this enjoyable? Why do reminisce?

Then I remember why, because of the feeling of content and comfort I felt that time. Knowing that someone will accept you for who you are, stood by your side, support you in every endeavor you faced. The feeling was insurmountable, it was like a flying in the sky and punching through walls or having infinite amount of money in any currency. Then I remember why I felt that way, I remember all the things that make me whole, I remember her.

I miss the things we did, I miss the times we laugh, and all the events we been through. Then, I remember why I forget. I forget all the events we been through, the times we laugh, and all the things we did. I keep forgetting the feelings I had. Finally, I remember that I omitted her off my mind. As I said before, Our mind finds a way to distract us, or rather, we choose to do so.? But if we purposely forget something or someone, does the memory dwindle truly and fade away? The more we put an effort on forgetting something its more likely that it pops out in your head. As Isabella once said '"You only suffer, because you resist''. Although it pains me to admit it, I want to keep track of my precious memories, even though some of it includes my ex. For me, one thing is certain, and I know some people won't agree with me, but I don't give a fuck. The only thing that keeps us from remembering something is forgetting.
